NFL Street returns with a few more game modes and
tricks to use when out on the field.
Own the City:
This new mode is where you create a character and keep makin him
better by getting development points and adding them to what he needs.
You choose the position such as QB, WR, RB, DB, LB, OL, and DL. I chose
DB because I like a good defense. After you create your guy its time to
hit the city. Play in all the the different environments and unlock some
new ones. When you unlock a new area there are different places you can
go. They involve pickup games, street events, and versing someone else's
team. This does get repetitive after awhile as you keep doing pick after
pickup and then another game against someone.

More Game Modes:
NFL challenge was in the first one and is basically same. You create
a team, VS other NFL teams and upgrade your players.
NFL Gauntlet is new. You pick any NFL team you want and take down all
other 31 (32 including yourself) NFL teams. Not really that great
because this is the streets and not Madden. I think they just put the
game mode in there to just say that this is another game mode.Street
events is a great mode with friends. Compete in various different
challenges. Jump ball is one of my favorites. This is where you
pick a player and try to catch as many passes as you can. You have to
keep catching them otherwise you will get knocked out in the round.
4 on 4 is kind of cool. It's kind of like the regular game except you
only have 4 players. The plays are different as well as when you turn
the ball over, you get 3 points.
2 minute showdown is where you want to score as many points as you can
within 2 minutes while the other player must defend.
Crush the carrier is kind of a weird one. Six players and one football.
Hold on to the ball for your points to go up or tackle the one with the
ball for them to go up.
Open field showdown has 2 players involved. Its like 1 on 1 football.
Try to run the endzone while the other guy must stop you before you do.
Pretty simple, yet fun.

New moves:
Not a whole lot here, but there are some good ones. Running on the
walls has got to be the best thing to do against the other tem. Nothing
like seeing a defender diving at you and you leap up on the wall to get
over him. You feel so cool after it to. You can also juke off the wall
which does just about the same thing as running up it, however, it is
better if he is coming right in front of you. Another new move is the
way you can pass now. You can now jump off a wall to throw a pass to try
and get it over everyone and into you receiver's hands. For receiving
the ball, when you are ready to catch it you can now jump up quite high
and make a cool catch. All the environments now have something called
hotspots. If your hurdle, juke, pass, catch, tackle, break a tackle you
can get a hot spot. It gives you 20,000 style points. Its a great way to
boost up your gamebreakers.
Gamebreakers were in the other one but now we have gamebreaker 2. Get
enough style points and you can use this for a free score, well you
still have to run downfield with it. I feel that they should have stayed
with just gamebreaker because you can already predict you going to lose
hen the guy only needs six and he has a gamebreaker 2.
Online:
NFL Street 2 is online for PS2 and XBOX. You can do normal games
with just NFL teams. As well as your created teams. You can also do all
the street events. Get out there and rack up someone's as its all
recorded on your report card. This shows who you beat and who you got
beaten by. Stats are also recorded such as, touchdowns, safeties,
interceptions, etc.

Last Word:
Improved from the first one but not a whole lot. If you were a fan
of NFL Street definitly get NFL Street 2 and you will not be
disappointed.

The Bottom Line: |
|
Gameplay: 9.0 |
| |
New moves make it more fun than the last one.
Gamebreaker 2 though is kind of bad. |
|
Graphics: 8.5 |

Over the top player models are great for this type
of game. The environments are awesome. |
|
Sound: 6.0 |
| |
Bad music, what the players say are kind of
weird..."Got ball... Tasty!"??? |
|
Depth: 8.5 |

Playing alone will get old within probably a week
or two. Street events are great with friends, and playing online is
cool/ |
